Modified Exhaust Ticket
So basically i got pulled over and was given a modified exhaust ticket. No fix it or state ref call up, it was a straight to court kind of thing. I was wondering if anyone else (im sure they have) has had any experience with this kind of thing ? Im thinking of fighting it, but dont really know what will be best.
On a side note i heard two Subarus with modified exhaustrs drive past as the cop with a rod up her **** wrote me up. How typical.

I got pulled over on 280 about 8month ago by the redwood city chp street racing task force, they wrote me a ticket for my Greddy TI-C as a modified exhaust, and no front plate.. The exhaust ticket was about 250 and I didn't have to do anything but pay or fight it, but I am lazy and too bizzy with work so I chickened out and just paid it.
Those cops r punks cause I am always around the speed limit, and my exhaust wasn't that loud on the freeway, but hay its a quick 200$s for the dept that r cutting back funds due to the economic troubles.
Anyway, I have now switched to a cobb exhaust and cops dont look twice, plus my new bike rack and mud flaps make me look less like a ricer and more like a sports enthusiast, I think this has helped 2..

OP, you can get it decibel tested, bring that documentation to court provided it passes and tell them to stuff it.

i have gotten non fix it tickets on things such as an intake, exhaust, and side markers.. why didn't they give me the ten dollar fix it? more money the non fix it way.
I got a non-correctable date with the ref, I went back to stock so I can try to persuade the judge to cut me a break since it is my only traffic offense in 5+ years.

OP its probably a correctable violation and the LEO did it wrong. Put the stocker back on get another LEO to sign it off pay the $10 and count yourself as lucky.
I wish they were all like this and i am suprised he didnt ask you to pop the hood.

also make a copy of the cite and keep it in the car. If you are ever stopped for it again show the copy of the ticket and tell the officer you have been stopped and it has been found to be in regulation. It may or may not work but is worth a try.
yep i got pulled over in milpitas with my greddy TI-c and the cop wrote me a ticket, not fixing or anything but a fine for noise disturbance. It was 124 dollars, so no need to fix it just pay that.

Im glad she didnt check the rest of my car, but im putting the down pipe back on today and im going to take it to the CHP office and get it tested. THat way i can show up in court and prove my car is somewaht legal.

The thing that annoys me most is that i wasnt even doing anything wrong. I was sat in traffic and i watched her manouver her way through other cars in order to sit behind me.
