We can however stop it here and it does happen here. I don't think its lack of awareness that lets it happen. I think that every person caught with a child should be chemically castrated. And they need to track down the parents of these children and put them in prison. The people caught trafficing children should be shot.

you want to stop this **** stop the narrowing of wealth in america. You want to stop this ****... educate our children. you have to stop the cycle before it starts not put a bandaid on it and expect it to go away.
I'm afraid I must disagree with you on one point Ray, I think the people should be physically castrated.

Sadly sex trade is as old as, if not older than labor trade.

I'm going to try to find somewhere around here showing it. Anyone know if ticket sales go to help the cause?

werd Ray it's F'ed up! But this can be stopped, and it might not be in our lifetime but who knows. Look at America, black folk were slaves here and now they are not. Yes many generations got screwed in seeing that day when there people would see freedom, but now their future generations will see the freedom that was fought for them through lots of blood and tears and lives.

And that's the problem, too many folks think they cannot make a difference, but man if one or more of these hundreds of thousands of children's lives are salvaged from this horrible life then your efforts are not in vain.

from the website:

"CALL+RESPONSE is creating interactive field projects for each aspect of human slavery: sex slavery, labor slavery, child soldiers and child slavery. All profits from the use of the film, dvd, soundtrack, itunes downloads will be directed, by the viewers, to these projects with clear start and finish points (ie a landrover for a child soldier rehab camp, sewing machines for a after-care training facility). Our goal is to fund and celebrate completed projects together in community. We are closing the loop by allowing viewers to become participants in the solution."

What this whole issue comes down to is the value of one life. In 3rd world countries, some families have to survive and have no food to eat so they sell off their daughters. Who's to blame here? The starving family or the person who purchases the daughter? I don't think it's right to sell off your children or anyone for that matter but would you rather die together or live apart? Is there a right or wrong?

I think this film is an eye opener to many people who are ignorant to humanity issues in the world but if anyone suggests using America as the standard for all other countries to follow is just absurd. America has been known for lots of sex scandals and prostitution. A US President has been caught cheating, so has the NY Governor and countless other people who represent the US. If prostitution is so illegal, why is it still allowed and most law enforcement turns the other cheek? Heck, last time I checked, there were still mexicans on the Las Vegas strip passing out flyers for escorts. Practice what you preach America!

You have a lot of good points! Yeah I understand in other countries, they do these things and is it the parent, the purchaser doing wrong etc? Probably both! But who has the right to place a value on someones life, for personal gain. And as far as dying together or living apart, there is no living apart. The child that has to pay for there families misfortune though physically alive (barely) well he/she is already dead.

I watched the film, and I don't believe, they are suggesting America as the standard. What they are suggesting is the idea from one human to another, not Asian, American, Hispanic, Black etc, to DO something in an effort to protect ones own dignity as a human. To be a voice for those who can not speak. Most people around the world don't look forward to being put into a cage and beaten into submission so some horny old geiser can release himself on them, let alone kids.

And Yes I understand your frustration, many Americans/institutions think they are the solutions to everything including the worlds problems, but they are hypocrites! Hell, I fess up too I have been a hypocrite on too many occasions myself (just ask the wife), but again it's about people who give a damn not just talking about it, but attempting to chisel out this huge mountain of a problem.

Adizon, glad to we see eye to eye. Awareness surely does go a long ways when people are too selfish living in the lap of luxury to care about anyone else. I haven't seen the movie but I didn't mean that the movie said that America was the benchmark to follow but looks like you've understood that. America is so hypocritical it's sad. The land of opportunity is now the land of scandals, corruption, and crime. It's still better than a lot of countries but it can always be better.

+1 to this movie
-1 to human traffickers

as a father of a 13yr old, this kind of stuff stinks, But I can agree with OneMan...There is nothing we can really do to those who are brought up in a culture were this is made to be legal. As horrific as it is, thats just life for those who choose to have these horrible child work forces set in place. We can however do our part to end this here in the US. I for 1 would do some thing even if it meant me getting my a$% kicked for trying to protect a child from some thing like this if I witnessed it.
Sad, A very sad thing this is though!
