Mod'd Exhaust? You need the ACLU Bust Card!
I'm amazed at the number of members here that are still getting popped for modified exhaust/intake, and similar charges.
In most cases, the cop has no right to look under the hood, or anywhere else on/in/under your car
Gohere to download a very useful pamphlet.
C'mon, folks. Educate yourselves & make The Man work for his $$!
(Dislaimer: I'm no lawyer, so don't blame me if a cop beats you down!)

anyways, while on paper, the aclu bust card does have some merit. in real life, if you refuse, that might be just enough to get a warrant. and yes, you could be stuck waiting on the side of the road while the police get the warrant.
best way, is to just get a paper work by the manufacturer that shows it is legal in all 50 states. then show them the stuff and you on your way.
also driving smart (i.e. revving while the cop is behind you) is just another way of avoiding such meetings...
