Probably due to their beloved Mustang.

I guess anybody can make a sick car (especially Ford, with their experience on the Focus Rally), but it takes a real commitment to price it competitively against the STi and Evo and still make a profit!

I'd hit it as well... tag team! Serious though, that is a sweet ride, and I'm glad ford is building such a ride. I agree with the earlier post that it will not come here due to the Mustang.

p.s. can people read the "no fat chicks" on the shirt of Peter in my avatar? Just curious if it's too small.

yes they can, but it might be too small for fat chics to read defeating the purpose

I like the focus a lot, I just wish we could get a good version here.

I just picked up a SVT Focus with a Euro package and I really quite like it. The Recarro seats are really nice and the HIDS are excellent. The 9006 stereo (290Watts) sounds awesome it also includes a 8 in" sub mounted in the back. And 15 spoke anthracite 17" wheels to top it all off. I also got it out the door for 18.3K after all of the rebates and the D-plan so I really cannot complain.

Super

If they brought this over and priced it at say... 29k, they would have the same problem as VW is having (or at least I hope there having) with the R32. Who is going to pay 29k for a Ford Focus?
Think about that for a second.

A Focus. That cost's 29k.

American money.

Ouch.

They need to price it to compete with the WRX, not the STI. Besides, the last Focus RS was supposed to 300hp and AWD, and it never happened. I think we will just have to wait for it to hit the UK.

The 300hp edition was the Cosworth RS, the standard RS was only intended to be FWD and 220hp. If the new RS came out, even at 29k, I think you'd be suprised how many people would buy it. There are quite a few people out there who are huge fans of the STi and EVO, but continue to purchase the Mustang because it is "more American." The RS would give them something to buy. The R32 doesn't do well here becuase it isn't intended to compete speedwise with the STi, EVO, or RS. Intstead the R32 tries to make up for it's lack of speed and power with luxury and build quality. However here in the states, most would prefer an "upmarket" nameplate such as audi when dishing out that kind of cash for a sport/luxury vehicle. It's the same stupid reason we have Acrua, Infinity, and Lexus when most other countries don't.
