Miss matched tire tread on our cars? How BAD is it?
Okay I'm currently looking at a 2006 2.5i to replace my totaled wagon. I went to look at it today (used car dealership). Didn't speak with a salesperson just did a quick walk around and I noticed miss matched tires. I forget what were up front but in the rear were significantly more worn azenis. That definitely caught my eye and worried me.
Im wondering how much damage could have possibly been done driving on different tread depths. Besides that it had an sti axle back with a bent tip otherwise completely stock.
I want to give it a chance but don't know if this is super horrible and signs of a poorly owned subaru with future problems to come.
Thanks in advance.

true then again i feel like this dealership wouldn't even put in the effort to bring a car back to stock. Heres some pictures.

57k miles.

I would be willing to bet its an auction buy, might be a insurance write off and repair. My suggestion, walk way, find a car in your price range from someone in private or from a reputable dealer.
It's QQ thankyouverymuch

Don't get it. The drive train may still be ok, but that car was clearly owned by a careless owner. Since it is a 2.5i I can't see it being modded much farther than exhaust but who knows.
But, the hood doesn't seem to line up with the top of the grille, **** like that really irks me and is a gigantic red flag.

good call on that hood Jourdan. And I completely agree with you. While the car might drive fine, and the damage to the transmission might be small, having mismatched tires shows neglect on taking care of the car and probably going the cheapest possible way to fix things. You don't know what else could have been neglected.

any suggestions for a car in the 10k range? I want something reliable, somewhat fun, comfortable, decent mpg, and enough room to carry all my fire crap.

Non turbo, still uses all the same parts as the XT and the impresa wagons/wrx, and is zippy.

Ugh, AC European. I went to that dealership once to look at G35 sedans they had. The salesman pretty much kept working at his desk and handed me the keys to take a look. Then let him know if we're going to test drive it. Pretty much brushed me and my buddy off. When we got there, we walked around and peeked at a few cars without anyone saying anything to us, so we had to walk in and finally noticed the guy at the desk. LOL.
