Messages from God painted on San Mateo home and car
Try to imagine what your home would be worth if you lived next door to Estrella Benavides.

Her car.

Her house.

Benavides, 47, who also broadcasts the messages from a loudspeaker on the roof of her car, has said the messages come to her from God through a statue at her church and from the Bible. She claims the city's ruling violates her free speech rights.
"They're telling me based on the San Mateo sign code that I'm violating the law," Benavides said. "I'm telling them based on the U.S. Constitution that their sign code violates the law."
The council ruling orders Benavides to remove the signs or face fines of $50 a day starting late next month. If she refuses to take down the signs or pay, the city will have no choice but to sue her or file criminal charges, City Attorney Shawn Mason said.

Would this gentleman be a better neighbor than Ms. Benavides?

The two-alarm fire broke out just after noon near the water heater in Don Bertone's home at 336 Lathrop Ave., in a southeastern neighborhood known as Little Hollywood. Firefighters believe a spark from the water heater spread to a can of gasoline that Bertone had stored nearby.
The gasoline powered a generator that was supplying electricity to the home. Pacific Gas and Electric Co. cut off power to Bertone a few weeks ago while he was in jail, one of several stints he has spent behind bars this year as a result of his anti-social behavior toward his neighbors.

I knew this would be coming sooner or later. I seriously live down the street from that lady in the picture and I drive pass there every now and then on my way out to work.
I'm sure they are nice people but it's just so wierd. I'm assuming it's her husband that I see driving around an el camino with the same "designs". I'm also assuming it's their kid who rides passenger with them sometimes. Can you imagine what the other kids say about him?
They have been doing this for the past 2+ years and I've grown accustomed to them driving around screaming for attention. Honestly, other than the fact that the value of homes around them is significantly lower than others, because of them, it's a nice area.

OMG Ive seen this thing on the freeway, I saw this big square thing flapping ontop of a car way up ahead, when I got up to it I was honestly a bit horrified, not all all the BS but that someone would screw a giant plywood 'airbrake' to the top of their car like that and expect it to stay on thier car at freeway speeds, Im serious one day that things gonna come flying off and right through someones windshield

Free speech! Free speech! Free speech! When will people realize they're not lawyers and don't have nearly as many free speech rights are they think?
