The closest performance rally to the Bay Area will be taking place on Saturday, August 6th. It is based out of Ukiah and should be a great time out. As with most rallies, they could always use additional volunteers to help with the event. Those of you who proclaim their love of all things rally should make SURE that you sign up and volunteer. Additionally, the post rally awards presentation is at the Mendocino Brewing Company!!! Come one come all, but please...COME!!!

I've pretty much stayed home and pretended rally doesn't happen anymore since I stop racing with Dave... well, minus the time a few years ago I ran Mt. Olympus. Wonder who is entered. Could be fun to see some of the old buddies.

No they're not Negative Nancy. If this year goes well and they continue to receive enough volunteer support then spectating may be a possibility down the road. As this is the first time this rally has been run since 1980, volunteer support is crucial to making it work.
Seriously though, volunteering is the best way to spectate most rallies. Sign up and you will DEFINITELY get to see cars at full tilt.
Subaru fans should flock to this type of event yet you get more people coming out to stand in a parking lot and BS. At least as a volunteer, you get a t-shirt! :P

Bah I'm running low on funds...
If I have enough funds to even get there, maybe. But it's a decent bit far away from me.
Oh and damn, this is a day before BAM! Full-Subaru weekend!

If anyone is seriously interested but can't afford gas for the entire trip or whatever, you can always park your car at my house in Healdsburg (just North of Santa Rosa) and carpool with me up to Ukiah. Just a thought.

any chance of giving out the start point? like how far from host hotel to start of stage 1?
i'd like to volunteer since i missed out on the NNR and this is slightly closer so i think i can make my funds run tight...
thanks...

AFAIK, it's at the South Cow Mountain OHV area which looks to be less than 10 miles from Ukiah and the host hotel.
