I have a pretty modded gd.I disagree. The new sti's corner significantly better than the gd's in stock form and also have a way nicer ride. Stock their straight line power is nothing to brag about relative to gd tho, thats the biggest fault i''d say.

Subaru is drifting farther and farther from what the STI is suppose to be.

The fact that they are putting down the same power they were 10 years ago is disgusting.

I've heard them getting down there pretty low but not that low.

It's insane really. Subaru should be ashamed of themselves.

Just test drove a bunch of cars and if I was purchasing new, I would not buy a new STi. The '13 GSR was a lot more fun to drive.

At the price point of the STI there are a LOT of options. I personally wouldn't buy one. I'd rather buy a WRX hatch and dump the money in it that it would take to buy the STI. I don't have a desire to own a sedan with a huge wing on it so that helps me make that decision. LOL!

I keep waiting for subaru to make a good decision in regards to the STI but I can't figure out what they're doing with it. This new separate platform thing will hopefully be a good thing.

It's pretty funny to hear someone say that a new STi is the "most disappointing car they have driven" when there are things like PT Cruisers and Mazda3's out there. To be fair, when someone who has the privilege of reviewing a car says something like that, it removes their credibility. He could be objective about it or provide actual feedback. What a waste of a test!

Chris Harris is on another level, and also competently describes the elements of the vehicles he tests in a neutral and helpful manner. I think it's pretty funny the way Matt Farah talks about Chris Harris and specifically mentioned that he (Chris) thinks that his fans are idiots. Somehow, I doubt that - but of course I do not really know.

I think his comments about the Camaro and the Fiat 500 are pretty funny. I have a bit of experience with both of them. I personally put around 20k miles on a 2010 Camaro SS 6spd, commuting on HWY 1, 92 and 84 in it for two years. I rented a standard Fiat 500 in LA to try it out. I ended up driving around 1000 miles in the car over about two weeks. I drove it up to the Bay, out into the back roads, and then up into Nevada through snow and ice on 80. I am 6' tall and around 200lbs and never had an issue fitting in the car. I also bought a 40" plasma and put it in the car which was surprising. But the car itself - I had SUCH a fun time driving it. It's not the end-all-be-all of course, obviously - but for a tiny FWD car with a 1.4L engine on all-season tires, it was awesome. It handled nice, braked well, was absolutely fine @80mph and above and this car even had the automatic. I hate automatics, but this was actually pretty entertaining when in "sport" mode because it holds revs between shifts as one would. So, you take a corner and lift a bit, it stays in gear and gives you some nice bite into the front tires, then you get on the throttle coming out of the turn and it's actually feeling competent. I can't imagine how much fun it would be to drive the Abarth version of the car, and I can't imagine a competent driver "burning the brakes" on a canyon run.

Next up is the Camaro... It's a "piece of ****" but the one with more power and different suspension is "magical"? Also something about another Camaro being the "single most uncomfortable car he has ever driven" or something.

This guy is a bit spoiled on driving retardo-fast cars. Sure the current STi is not a huge value when compared to the 2004 or other things but - the "most disappointing car he has driven?" Huh? In the same AMA he suggested that someone should buy a DeLorean. OMFLOL! Sure, I would like to drive one and sit in one or own one to look at if I had money to flush, but to tell someone who asks "if I had $20k to spend, what should I buy?" and answer DeLorean? No.

Anyway, just my opinion - and worth what you paid for it. With all the fun I have in a Justy out there on the roads, hearing someone say that an STi is the most disappointing car they have driven makes me think this person knows nothing about driving. The 2012 STi may not be a huge value compared to the 2004 (if you really want to make comparisons like that...) but to say it is the most disappointing car he's driven just doesn't make any sense. He said his first car was a Mercury Villager. One would have to assume he had driven it before. That, and the real deal (Nissan Quest) is a vile piece of motoring trash that should be pushed into a large hole (I had a friend who owned one, and I spent a lot of time working on it). But, it's not the most disappointing car he has driven... Food for thought, I guess.

Of course I am jealous at the opportunities he has to drive pretty awesome cars, and can say that it is pretty awesome what he has done with the business and the show. Thing is, some people like it. Some people also like Top Gear America, though.

When he says disappointing, I believe he meant he had high hopes for it and was let down. Im pretty sure Farah has owned an Sti in the past so its not like he doesnt know what he is talking about and cant have expectations. Also, He has more experience with cars than anyone here so im sure he has a better sense than we do. I think his car reviews, especially his "one take" reviews he does a great job with, of course he has his own opinions but that usually makes for great TV personalities like Jeremy Clarkson. Chris Harris is unique and great but I think they both bring things to the table, and the fans he was referencing were his diehard I hate any other journalist fans.

I dont know about anyone else here that regularly watches these guys but when I see them driving an awesome car and they're tearing through gears and they start smiling and giggling I cant help but smile and giggle with them.
