i dunno, imo, marnee is a bit overrated and kinda like that place, Burma Star, on Clement St, which isn't a Thai joint, but both seem to get by more on reputation than really great food quality.

Don't get me wrong, Marnee & Burma Star are both very decent, but I don't think either is really worth the long waits for tables, esp Burma Star.

The portions are pretty small at Marnee too, but I guess that goes for most every Thai restaurant.

I guess it's worth a try if you've never been before.

btw, Osha is okay too, but their food & decor is way more boojee & not as authentic as Marnee, esp their Embarcadero location (their TL one is real down home tho) if you're on a date or trying to impress your in-laws, some tourists, etc, you'd probably be better off taking em to the Embarcadero Osha. Marnee's restaurants are less frills and have a more "neighborhood spot" feel to them.

well, this is gonna be for a surprise bday dinner for my best friend. She and 11 guests. So it's gonna be a pretty big reservation (from what i see of the place in pictures) for a friday nite. So the wait is not a problem.

it was pretty cool, the place was smaller than i imagined. But food quality was great I'd give it a 4.5/5 on food, and Perfect on service. She even gave some of my friends fortune tellings.
