I just moved down here a couple months back. Saw on the tech inspection there is a SOUND LIMIT. My car has ewg, does that mean I'm hosed?

I run at Marina (autocross) with 2 clubs and don't remember any sound limit control over there. What club you're running with?

 

If it's anything like SCCA, its 100db @ 50ft (or 94db @100ft, same thing), which means yea you'd be hosed LOL

 

I go all the time, though missed all of this seasons... But I have heard some damn loud pipes out there and never seen them stop anybody. I think they are probably just trying to scare people from bringing straight pipes.

 

I've ran there 3 times and they never did a db test during the tech inspection.

My buddy ran his Trans Am w/ built motor w/ headers in to straight pipes and they didn't say anything to him. I don't think you'd have a problem.

 

I've never seen a sound test down there... I think it's more of a "we reserve the right" sorta thing.
If they ain't ticketing the RX7's (does anything on Earth sound worse than a rotary engine) than you'll be fine
