Thumbs down Man...What's up with the Warriors??

Antawn Jamison, Danny Fortson, Chris Mills, Jiri Welsch traded to the Mavericks for Nick Van Exel, Popeye Jones, Avery Johnson, and Evan Eschmeyer.

Trading Chris Mills and Jiri Welsch is no biggie, but comon, Jamison and Fortson? Who's going to score for us now? Exel is ok, but he's like the weather, changes every day from hot to cold, cold to hot. Fortson was a good rebounder, but no one's going to be able to back up Murphy when it comes to rebounds now.

Somebody seriously needs to step in and replace Gary St. Jean.

Unconfirmed trade

I posted this earlier. what a dumbass move. I just don't understand what suck jean is doing. besides the quick the other guys are garbage.

I thought one of the reasons we drafted Jiri was because he had some skills to run the point. I think we are making such a mistake, he can play. Watch he will be a good player in the league. Come on and trading the guy that is carrying the team, seriously Jamison can play a big 3 or quick 4.

Nick is not a very good point, he is a good guard. on this team he will jack the ball up every opportunity he gets.

Suck jean why didn't you just draft a point? hello you could have traded down and picked up Gaines. I'm just pissed.

Now this is a sign for Dunleavy to show us why he's the 3rd pick of the draft last year.

Who knows? With Jamison gone, the best small forward they got now is Dunleavy, so he'll get the minutes he needs to develope. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts to shine, actually.

Van Exel's on his last year of his contract, so that'll be freed up by the end of the season. Jamison's gone, so there's some more money. Van Exel's good. Fortson? Who cares about Fortson? He spent most of his time on the damned bench. He was so out of the loop cuz Murphy took his place at PF. At least Murphy can do more than rebound. When Murphy was injured, it was Dunleavy who took the chunk of those minutes. This might work out for Golden State, but they still need to keep a core team for God's sakes. As for Dallas...well, that might screw up some chemistry.

Also, Dampier needs to go, I heard Memphis wants him, however, I heard Memphis still wants to give Stromile Swift another chance. If he ain't lazy, that'll be a good thing (check out the numbers he put up during March when Lorenzen Wright was out!) Man, Foyle, seriously needs to play more minutes and play smarter to get out of foul trouble, I remember the week that man went on a tear with rebounds and blocked shots. Adonal is an awesome shot blocker and interior defender!

Seriously, they should have done this trade a long time ago before Arenas packed his bags and headed to Washington!

man they wont make this trade, they have to atleast keep jameson, if they trade fortson though and get rid of dampier, they willl pretty much loose all their inside game, foyle has been playing well though, but who else is there? if they get rid of jameson, i will never watch the warriors again, i think all the warriors fans are getting tired of this crap happening over and over again. and what was up with the warriors first round pick, do we really need another guard, even though arenas left? oh well.

But here is the problem I have with taking on a player in his last year... the warriors give away the farm to do this and will not get anyone in free agency. look at the players that are leaving. Jamison (the 5 or 6th pick) Jiri (15th) of recent drafts.

suck jean is just being out smarted by other GMs. this trade should have happened to keep Arenas. or this trade should involve Jrich not Jamison.

The warriors are rebuilding again. Who knows what goes through st jean's head? The reason they traded jamison is because his 5 years left on a six year 80 mil contract handcuffed the team in terms of the salary cap. Jamison has played amazing for the warrios, but he definately isn't a player you max out. Fortson had to go with his rediculous i think 4 years left at 38 mil? He rebounded but threw up some of the worst shots i've seen, getting his own rebounds several times in the process. He made more rediculously dumb plays then he made good ones in my opinion. Mills is in the last year of his contract which was trade bait and welsch is a good young combo guard that the mavs probably insisted on to take on such large contracts. Van exel can opt out of his contract after this season which is likley because he won't want to play on a team in the cellar. Popeye Jones will likley be gone as well. eschmeyer is nothing and has somewhat of a big contract too. johnson doesn't have much of a place on the team that has vanexel, claxton, sura, and zimmerman at the same position. This trade makes the warriors a much worse team than last years, but it frees up a lot of cap room for next year when the warriors will persue all the big name free agents who won't want to sign with a losing team. This makes sure the warriors won't get stuck with a fat payroll like in the arenas ordeal, which they could have solved by not signing jamison to such a fat contract and dealing players before like musselman pleaded st jean to do. It's to correct st jeans screw ups by screwing up again. Now, dampier needs to go, maybe to memphis for some expirnig contracts. This leaves Foyle, Murphy, Dunleavy, Richardson, and Vanexel as the starting 5, and butt loads of cap room in 04. Players will develop, but signs point to high lottery next year in the dominating west.

As Larry Biel (abc 7 news sports caster) put it best "Exel is the only good part from this trade, while the rest are just garbage" (Jones, Johnson, Eschmeyer)

I actually don't blame Arenas for leaving. He said in his interview with one of the news sports casters that he just didn't trust the warriors management team, and that was why he left. He did the right thing IMO. Because the chances are that he would have gotten traded sometime later on in the future.

Maybe this jamison trade will do us some good. It'll give us a chance to sign Kobe Bryant next year when he becomes a free agent.

I guess another good thing about this trade would be that the Mavericks might have a chance against the Lakers next year

Steve Nash, Michael Finley, Antawn Jamison, Derk Nowitski, Shawn Bradly

vs

Gary Payton, Kobe Bryant, Rick Fox(?), Karl Malone, Shaq O'Neil.

it was a good trade. Free's up salary cap room to sign some dudes in the future. Jamison was NOT gonna bring the Warriors anything and is NOT the guy to build a team around. I am sure the warriors will make another trade. probably involving sending Van Exel elsewhere. i doubt they will keep him.

Me too. Flashy dunker, getting better at his 3's, but still can't really handle the ball well and drive to the basket like Arenas could.
