actually, the LS2 in my 07 C6 makes 430whp on pump with just Bolt-ons and a tune, and the LS3 makes even more, not just because the extra .2liters, but its using the new Z06 style heads and intake manifold which flow WAY better than the LS2 style heads/intake mani, and have way more potential for power. the same mods I have (medium cam, long tube headers, exhaust, CAI, ported TB, tune) are pushing close to 480-490 whp. just check the corvetteforum.com 'proven power' forum to see what the new LS3 can do. and yeah Brucie, you can hook up 500+whp with rwd if you know what your doing. Its in the turns where AWD really trumps RWD.

Yeah, LS3 is really strong engine. I did went to chevy dealer last Friday to check them out. Only had V6 model. It didn't look great in person. It was OK at best. Is there any difference in look between SS model and V6?
But I could definitely imagine how simple mods like coilovers, simple lip kits, and fatter rims can make it look really nice.
But as of now, I would rather go with gt500 and up the boost.

Yea plus if you think you are gonna find an SS for 30k you're kidding yourself. The dealership was taking pre orders for the V-6 with the car financed starting at 5k over msrp or 34,999 the ss is anticipated to msrp over 40k without markup.

Previous SS went 2 per dealership and were auctioned at over 75K areound california

Ah.. but the resale will be even higher with the SS. As GM didnt make millions of them and more then likey GM will scrap the SS after a year or two. As it no longer fits their model. Same I think I heard for the vette.

So the ss will be more of a collectors car. Which in turn will bring the value up.

Local dealer has a red one for sale. lots of lookers but no one has bought.
I personaly think the ss is the best looking american car out on the road.

Not really, just the hood vent/'scoop' on the nose. You can even get the SS wheels on the LS V-6 Camaro.

LS model is a pretty decent buy...but the SS would be the only way to go for a real car guy(or gal).

Oh. That's kind of weak. I would think it would need more performance style for higher model....But that's just me.
Oh, no I would never get V6 american muscles. V8 all the way. Well, unless it comes with twin turbos or a superchanger...
