MadDad Whisper

Does anyone in the Bay Area have this catback? http://www.daddysscp.com/dcart4/prod...1&cat=3&page=1

I think I'm going to be going this route and wanted to hear it in person before getting it.

Thanks.

I would not spend that much money on a daddysscp branded product. For $650 you can get any other catback setup including stromung which is a guaranteed fit with stock hangers.

If you like the smaller single tip look, get prodrive, stromung, or borla.

Is the Prodrive or Stromung full 3" piping? I know the Borlas taper to 2.5" at the DP. I just heard the Hush last night at UCKK and I want something slightly louder than that with single tip and full 3" piping, but still maintain a stockish look. I'm not a huge fan of the N1 style mufflers.

How did you hear the hush, meaning what was it connected to? Using a non tapering flange increases the noise, as does a catless UP, and any other cats you remove. I've yet to have someone say "needs to be a little louder" and had the hush with non tapering flange, madded twindump dp, 3CE, and PDE UP and it's not LOUD when you're driving normally but you definately know it's there. The instant I stomp on it all hell breaks loose and I can be heard from blocks away.

I didn't get to talk to the owner of the car before he left, so I'm not sure what it was connected to. It did seem to be very quiet though.

He might have just had the catback with the flange that comes with the hush. That is very quiet, barely louder than stock even at higher rpms.

here's a old video from inside the cabin on my car. Pardon the rattling, the camera mount was rattling, my endlinks were rattling, and there was crap in the back of the car.

There's a link over at NASIOC comparing the Hush and Whisper catbacks - I think the consensus is that the Whisper is even quieter than the Hush. I think someone may have posted dyno results too.

And personally, I wouldn't mind getting a whisper catback -i.e. stealth looking and sounding catback. I don't need the popo's bustin my chops.

Get a Perrin catback. It's only "slightly" louder
