Macro Photography help - beginner

I was assuming that one could go to a photo/studio supply place and buy a pre-made light tent/box for macro staging, I was figuring such an arrangement might retail in the $200+ range, but after looking around- home-built seems to be the going thing, and yeah spending much more than about $50 in materials for that project shouldn't be needed, but neither is a $1000-$2000 camera as your point and shoot shots show wombat- although the G-10 isn't exactly cheap, and I have to say- the lighting on those could be better ;-)

Michael's for the 20x30 foam core, some tape, some wax paper for the panels (so they lights don't light them on fire), 2 lights from Walmart:

Awesome setup and this is along the lines of what I was talking about, but that is a HUGE amount of light (left of left piggy is washed out yet there's shadows between them). Maybe something to reflect a little light downward onto them? Anyway, awesome!!
