machining crank in east bay?

Hello,
I'm located in Brentwood, CA and am looking for a reputable machine shop to take my crank to. Someone who knows there way around a Subaru. Thanks!

I was always told not to machine your crank, your more prone to spin a bearing

I don't see how... machining a crank and sizing the bearings is standard practice on every other engine out there

From what i have read machining the crank is fine and will save me around 150 bucks by not having to buy a new one

With how cheap new cranks are, it just doesn't seem worth reworking a used one. Just my opinion though.

I had my crank polished at S&S Automotive in San Leandro. They're a v8 speed shop and gave me minor guff for bringing them a Subaru. They also polished my cams and bored and honed my block. The block didn't turn out so hot so I won't be going back to them unless I buy a Chevy.

However, the polished crank and cams turned out ok and now has 4k miles on it.

The place that built my heads didn't think highly of Eds Crankshaft.

An option I was considering at the time was getting one of the newer Subaru cranks because they are nitrided. There was a thread on them over at Nasioc which I can't seem to find now.
