1st - almost all personal insurance policies specifically exclude use as "for hire" or taxi use.

1)true, but who has to tell them you were driving for "lyft"

2)Personal firearms, carry them, use them, stay safe.

3)I would suspect private citizens doing the lyft thing are going to be far better than the worthless scum that drive taxis, and don't get me started on the ****ing idiot ****s that drive the damn "livery" cars. (the black limos and such)

What makes you think it isn't the same guys? Just without insurance

The bottom line is: If you violate the terms of your insurance by running an auto for hire, you, your your car, and your passengers are not covered
Insurance companies have PI's that will check out your situation if there's an accident. If they find out your are driving for Lyft (it's public record) they will deny your claim..

Good point on the liability thing. That's a show stopper for me.

Lyft is essentially monetizing "driving favors" you'd do for your friends. Except these people are not friends and the money changes it to a hire.

It works now because people are generally nice. Buy it can never go mainstream without major changes because one day an ******* will be part of the system.

My friend who does it sent me this, she mentioned the cabs don't like them at all and said it's pretty damn easy to make some cash.

Would the people who get picked up care if the car is loud/smells from being catless?

I'm pretty sure that's the gross number.. not net.

Take out $0.60/mile for fuel, wear and tear etc.

conan definitely needs to make more of these. Conan travels and all the other bits are the best part of the show.
