Lost key question.

My friend lost the key to his 05 wrx (the one i sold him). I have no idea if the ignition lock cylinder was ever changed. Is there a locksmith that will come out and make a master key and what do they charge?

If I recall correctly the door key and ignition key were different on that car when I bought it.

I know the car doesn't have an immobilizer so I dont need a special key and I can reprogram a used keyfob for him...

Nm dealer has them for 10 and 10 to cut. Way better than the 120 every locksmith wanted.

Please keep in mind that dealer only has the original ignition cylinder key code. So if the ignition cylinder has been replaced then the key they cut for you will not work

Yea I double checked with him and he said it was the same key that fit the door and ignition so I sent him off to the dealer. That was my main concern with the locksmith because it sounded like he was going to make the key off the vin number instead of the actual lock cylinder in the car and charge 120 for possibly a worthless key.
