Looks like the Woody Show is gone...

I know there is a good range of love and hate for this morning show in the Bay (see https://www.i-club.com/forums/showth...ght=woody+show).

But it looks like the Woody Show is done for on Live105:

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/...id=38351&tsp=1

Better article, not a blog:

http://www.mercurynews.com/entertain...es/ci_12108999

And IMO, every other morning show fails in comparison to the kind of laughter and such the Woody Show brought me on my commute each morning...sure they were dumb and once hated on our beloved Subis, but I'll miss them!

Been a few weeks now. Sort of sucks. I listened to it all 10 minutes of my morning drive. Oh well.

that was a funny show. they say they were fired for leaking an unreleased Green Day song, but all dj's do that, so it was just an excuse for something else. either all the complaints woody was getting for his behavior, or the public posting of the late night dj who was whacking off while justin.tv was accidentally on and watching the studio. woody might have become a liability to cbs radio if they were threatened to get sued because of his actions. so, fire the liability, and find an easy excuse - playing an unreleased track.

Yeah..like Yin said, I've heard they got canned for playing a clip of a new Green Day song that wasn't released yet.

A Green Day rep had been at the radio station to play a new Green Day song for some higher-up and Woody decided to record the song on his iPhone. Woody played a 30-second clip on the air which seems like got them fired.

I was listening when he played the clip..it was all distorted and I think Green Day peaked with Dookie so I wasn't really paying attention. They were taking the next day (Friday) off for Ravey's birthday and come Monday, they weren't on.

Yup, sucks. They are actually all pretty cool people in person and were willing to go hang out with their fans (well, Ravey didn't really like it, but she would suffer through it once in a while).

This is old news though now as it's been almost 2 weeks since they were given their walking papers. I really enjoyed the show, but management was always trying to change it no matter what they did. If people did that to you at your job on a fairly regular basis you might get pretty ticked off as well. Looks like they have just gone back to having Greg running the morning show and just playing music for now. We'll see if they decide to change that up. I think Katie is still doing the phone screening with Greg. Menace seems to have landed a show on Saturday nights where Katie may be doing the phone screening there as well.

Woody, Tony & Ravey all are out of jobs and looking for other places to work though.

IIRC, Woody was the guy who suggested opening your car door to knock off lane-sharing motorcycle riders.

Sounds like his irresponsible behavior finally caught up with him.

No great loss.

yeah i agree with flukewrx. after listening for a few weeks after the firing of the morning show, it seems like they are changing the entire station up. they got rid of Love Line with Dr. Drew, and have a lot more "commercial free 40 minutes" of music. So it seems as if they've lost a lot of advertising revenue due to the economic crisis, and can no longer afford the high ticket items of the station, eg. the woody show and love line. aside from losing money, you can tell their programming has changed in the past 2 weeks. i hadn't heard "I Melt with You" by Modern English being played every 30 minutes since the 80's. Also SUBSONIC (which rules if you are into house music) is back. they are trying out a new model that spends a bit less money. cbs radio can still suck it though

I think Love Line is still on, but I heard it was moved from 10pm to 12am which probably cut the audience in half.

I'm sure Woody got the axe for posting the video of the night dj spanking it in front of the web cam.

And why bother saying the Stern show is better. The stern show is better than every morning radio show. But the Woody show was a good substitute.

Yea he was because he didn't know that it was legal in California for motorcycles to share lanes, coming from Chicago where its not legal. Sorry if all you heard was that one comment he made and had you make up your mind about the show cause it was by far the best morning show in the Bay Area.

Yea, everybody loves to throw out the Stern wannabe crap. Well, for anyone to say, you ripped that off of stern to a morning show, then that comment applies to all morning shows since Stern has been on the air. And they never tried to own bits that they have used that other morning shows started. They always gave credit to the show it came from. And it's not rabbie, and if that's what you heard coming from her, you apparently didn't listen long enough. But whatever, they had tons of haters, but way more listeners and were the best rated show on Live 105 since the Stern show left.

And I also heard that Live 105 could possibly be syndicating Kevin and Bean from LA.
