Looking to rent a house/condo in Fremont/Union City area

I want to move to Fremont/Union City/Hayward area and was wondering what the rental prices are around there.

I am looking to get a 2BR/2BAT house/condo/townhouse with back yard and garage in an area where I won't get jacked and where window bars do not exist.

Any advise is greatly appreciated...

The area where Robb lives in UC is great. It's probably the most expensive area, but it's the cleanest and safest in terms of apt/townhomes.

If you want to get a house, I would say most of West UC is good, at least decent. Pick up an east bay classifieds or real estate paper when you are around, and start looking for places you like.

Are you planning on getting a loan, and paying the bank for the future ownership of the home, OR are you planning on renting?

I would get a loan, cause I think you can get you payments down to about the price of home rental now a days... this way you paying off for that house, and increasing equity at the same time.

Alex, my parents both have a lot of very tight connections with real estate agents... I'll let them know.

hey alex, the house right next to mine is available for rent, haha, i'm not too sure how much though,i think its a 4bd/3bt, might be bigger, i know its more than what your looking for but it might be in your price range, this is in hayward off industrial and mission, no bars necessary, its in the middle of a golf course ... community is called Twin Bridges, and its only a few mins away from Bozz.... i can get the number anytime if it interest you..

real estate agents don't help out much if you are looking to rent. there are agency's out there though that speciffically deal with rentals (think real estate agent for rentals) honestly, i would suggest just finding a place on your own if you want to rent. with websites like craigslist and rent.com you should definately be able to find something nice. thats what i have used the for the last two places i have lived. i tried the agent route and was very dissatisfied.

actually, a lot of realtors also do property management. they charge you $50 or something along those lines to find you a place within your budget. BUT, as Ryan said, i do think it would be a lot better if you go and look on your own.

i would stay away from the hayward area-unless you're on the twin bridges side or in the Gruppe-S neighborhood. union city and fremont would be the best places. appts would run you about $1200 a month for a two bedroom. there's an appt/town house complex in fremont off of paseo padre called Ardenwood Forest. it's gated, you get a single car garage, tennis courts, pools, your own washer and dryer unit in the appt and not far from 880. phone number is 510.794.1020.

**oh, and i must mention that this area of fremont is safe enough for modified cars so no big concerns for rozette or other fremont police.

You'll like it in the south Bay - no hurricanes like you have in Florida.
