The issue I have is how much the fees have gone up, not that they are charging. As I mentioned, maybe donations have gone down as of late.

Its also not about upfront fees vs. cost of living with the dog, its the quality of life/health that the dog will have.

Why pay $300 for a dog with an unknown medical history when you can spend $500 and get a dog with a solid medical/genetic history. The quality of life for the dog AND family will be much greater.

I've met your dogs and you've met mine so I know where you're coming from and you know where I'm at

i let them go to good families for really cheap, they get to be about 20pounds pretty easy to train, downside is they are pretty hyper and really smart so if not trained properly they will get into trouble like all puppies haha

When my wife was 18the she got Rufus for $190 fixed. Whole 9. We went to get a rott puppy at santa cruz spca recently. They wanted $400.... and we got denied! Why... because we both work and they felt the dog would be alone too long. I kept my eye on the pups for a month... neither adopted.

We went to a breeder and got a golden retriever for $500. He goes to work with me every day... but I guess 30 minutes a day alone is too much.
