Looking to pick up a part time job
Cliff Notes: Trying to get a part time job in the south or east bay 16-25hrs a week.
Hey guys, well the time has come for me to add a part time position to the work I'm already doing. Currently networking with whoever I can and scouring Craigslist and other job boards.
For the past 3yrs I've been working at a startup created by myself and a guy I went to school with. We primarily do work such as the following: web design, web development, responsive design, UI design, video production, video editing, color correction, motion graphics, web video deployment, graphic design. We cater to clients in the tech, health/medical and sports-based retail businesses.
Anways, the reason I'm doing this is I need to add a little bit of income stability to the unpredictable world known as freelance. Sometimes I'm totally swamped with project work and I'll be at my computer 12+hrs a day easy… but at other times slow when waiting to close a contract or responding to RFP's.
Basic requirements:
-Part-time
-2 days/wk or 16-25hrs/wk
-Located in south/east bay but flexible
-Doesn't HAVE to be media related
-Weekend will be difficult since my production work usually lands on a Sat/Sun.
So, I'm totally okay with working somewhere thats not a media/tech related job if it comes down to it. I'd actually prefer it that way seeing how much time I already spend at a computer, but not going to be too picky thats for sure.
I've worked jobs in retail, IT, manufacturing, security as well as multimedia that I'm involved in now. I also have about 9 years of experience working on Subarus doing maintenance & repairs and installing aftermarket parts. Considering that I won't shy away from something in the automotive field.
Some of my previous employers:
George P. Johnson
Gillig
Global Entertainment Security
YesVideo
Motorola
Education summary:
Video Post-Production Certificate from Bay Area Video Coalition (San Francisco)
BA Multimedia Option from CSUEB (Hayward)
AA Liberal Arts from Ohlone College (Fremont)
I know we have a lot of people here on this board from many different professions so I figured it wouldn't hurt to throw this out there. If you know of any part-time positions at your work or somewhere else you heard of I'd greatly appreciate if you could forward me the contact info (via PM) of whoever I need to speak to.
Thanks!
-Jeff

Have you signed up for Creative Circle? I get a lot of listings for part time and short term that might be right up your alley...

I need someone to help me with my Photobooth this Saturday 3pm-11pm (1hr break) in San Martin.
Paying $125 cash + nice winery wine & dinner to help print pics & maintain good guest relations (mingle with guests).
If OP or anyone else is interested, PM me.

Wasn't too bad, had some funny coworkers. Long hours on and off site. I mainly just had to handle getting software installed / printers configured / other equipment set up and ready for our registration booths at trade shows.
