Hi,

I'm in the market for new cell phone. I want to to stick w/ AT&T, but their phones selections are kind of suck! I originally wanted iPhone (I'm a big fan of Apple), but I don't like touch screen phone due it'd look greasy w/ finger prints all the time. I almost got Sony Ericsson W580i, but my friend who works for AT&T told me W580i has quite a bit of problems (e.g. broken key pads & sound issue, etc.). He told me Sony Ericsson K850i was coming to AT&T in March 2008, but not anymore.

I decide to just get unlock phone somewhere else & stick w/ AT&T. I'd prefer bar phone but would consider slider phone (I hate flip phone!!! ). I don't text massage so I don't need PDA or full keyboard phone. I want a decent camera (2 MP at least or higher, of course). Nokia or Sony Ericsson, but I've always had Nokia & I trust it very much.

Any suggestion? Share your experience please...

Samsung AT&T has a really thin bar phone.

DBefore reading this thread i was gonna say dont go to AT&T but oh well, i made hat mistake, little things made Verizon better IMO. I went to ATT for phone selection

There are film covers for the iphone where fingerprints will easily wipe off

Not a fan of Samsung. I want unlock GSM phone so I can use it overseas.

I still have to wipe it off EVERYTIME, no?

well yah you do. I guess if your OCD like that. Theres always going to be a smudge or something on the film, even when you wipe off your fingerprints. And if you put the phone to your face to talk then its going to get a big oily spot where it touched your face.

the W580i i got is from hongkong, so the buttom didnt break, my friend's W580 from AT&T # 5 and #7 is in half. still works,but just looks ugly

sounds like a case of OCD...really its not that big of a deal to me, but i guess if it bothers you that much. if my contract was up id definately get an iphone.

I ended up getting the iPhone!

I found out unlock GSM phones are from overseas... meaning NO warranty. Some are even refurbished & seller doesn't even know it. It could've been traveling from many cities as well.

Almost picked up W580i, but they don't even have the grey one at the store (online only). Why get something I don't even like? iPhone is the answer for me. I'd get used to greasy screen or I'd get the screen film (any particular one?).

Now... which carrying case? It only took me a month to pick the case for my iPod.

Just get a cheapo unlocked quadband phone on eBay if you're planning to go overseas.
