Swifts FTW!

This is 18s on Tein H techs Andy. I ran these for about a year of daily driving on my stock suspension and it actually rode almost stock like. Decent drop but not toooooo low like you are now, with a good ride. Ide say H Techs

RCE has some of the best customer service I have ever had.

why are aftermarket springs so bad on stock shocks?

They're not essentially "bad", but when you increase spring rates, you are putting stress that wasn't originally engineered on a shock that expects the stock rates.

That said, they merely increase wear on shocks. The stiffer you go, the more the shocks have to dampen and so they wouldn't last as long as if you kept the oem suspension on.

With the exception of a few springs engineered for stock struts- swift, prodrive, spt pinks (and I guess RCE yellows now?)- aftermarkets will be under damped.

Kind of like going stage 2. It's not "bad", but will wear out your drivetrain faster.

They aren't too stiff

I have RCE blacks on my STI and love them for spirited driving and even some light track duty.

I like my prodrive springs. They're designed to be on the stock struts and isn't super low.

Other options when I was shopping for springs were pinks.

So, I have a question: If I'm strapped for cash and could only afford some swifts, could I put them on my oem struts with over 100,000k on them? Or should I just save my money.

I hate being broke
