Looking for an empty dirt field...

looking for someplace to practice rallyX. Got a relative with a dirt lot who wouldn't mind a bunch of cars on it?

I hear Altamont is paving all the dirt, so rallyX there is out. *sucks*

Being a grassroots motorsport and all, you guys got any thoughts on where to go?

there's hollister hills.

it's a 4wd park.

but a few years ago, i took a bunch of other i-clubbers there to get dirty.

right now, it's muddy as heck.

costs $6 to get in for the day and play...

nice curvy drive to get there too. about 70 miles from fremont.

yeah, I mailed him today asking about future rallyX, and that's what he told me. Pretty bummed about it. I was into the way-closer-than-thill factor of Altamont.

There's a empty dirt lot in downtown(ha!) emeryville, but I doubt that would go over well with the locals.

i hear altamont changed management and they are shutting it down or have different plans for it, but the company that owns it now is builing another track somewhere else though.

^^ RMP Racing. They have plans to build a 1200 acre race facility in Merced. The public veiwing of the plans so that locals could object to it ended yesterday....so I guess we'll know soon if they'll be allowed to build it? That'll take a long *** time to build though.

1st hit on google images for empty dirt field... Anyway, I thought it was funny.

The Merced spot looks like it will be nice, but it's the same distance as Thill, but in the opposite direction. Somebody just buy altamont, make it half dirt, half gravel, and let's call it a day.
