Do you need only 1 coil pack? When calling subaru today they said that they had 1 left in stock, and I mentioned that I needed 4, and they said all you need is one and they come in sets of 4 for 160, is this true? Cause I could sware we are talking about 2 different things, I thought I needed 4 and they cost around 100 each?

if you look on the side of the heads, it's the black piece that is right before the spark plugs. it generates voltage and then that creates the spark

 

I remember seeing those when installing my uppipe with racenut.

well i think it depends, because if u need one, then that means we are on a distributor right? but we are not to my knowledge so either we need two for each side, with companion cylinders or one for each cylinder in which u are right and need 4. i think thats what i learned in auto 101 today i hope that helps

 

I have a spare set of coilpacks here that I took from a new motor today. Your welcome to try them.
