Looking for a camping axe

Need recommends from the knife people.

Looking for a camping axe that is reliable; and as a bonus has the hammer / tent stake striker/puller. Bonus if there's a integrated saw somehow, but only if it doesn't over compromise the integrity of the axe. I want the axe to split fire wood and maybe kill zombies in a pinch. Since I'm camping maybe once a year, I'm not going to use it so much that I'd want the full length handle (not worth the bulk). Steel should not get dull too easily.

Example, I was tempted at this one:

Zippo Woodsman 4-in-1 Tool | Free Shipping at L.L.Bean

But reviews said critical parts were made of plastic and broke on them.

Maybe those people were using them more than you would be. LL Bean makes good stuff. Edit, I noticed that's made by Zippo not LL Bean. But it looks like it would work pretty well for your uses.

Or maybe this one. Schrade SCAXE2G Survival 11.8-Inch Hatchet https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I1XP04E..._H-TNvb77761F4 Although the tang doesn't go all the way through the handle.

Or the basics with this one
Estwing E24A Sportsman's Hatchet Metal Handle https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002JT0BO..._qzUNvbM1MN235

I just got this for my birthday and took it out to the Lost Coast on a three-day backpacking trip. Worked very well and would definitely recommend.

Amazon.com: Schrade Cutlery SCAXE2L Large Axe w/Fire Striker, Rubber Handle, w/Sheath Amazon.com: Schrade Cutlery SCAXE2L Large Axe w/Fire Striker, Rubber Handle, w/Sheath

That Zippo one that you linked looks pretty good too if you need the additional features.

Get this one:
Estwing 64 oz. Fireside Friend Splitting Tool-E3-FF4 - The Home Depot

Its got a 4lb head so it is really easy to split logs without swinging it very fast (safer)
Also a better hammer.

What type of camping do you do? How much and what type of wood are you going to chop?

As always, it depends on what you are looking for...if your camping involves driving up right up to a nicely cleared site with graveled parking space and electricity hook up....get a full size full length axe that will shrapnel everything with one swing. But if you like to hike into your spots, that weight/size might be just as much of a hindrance.

I use SOG F01TN-CP Tomahawk this as my camping axe/multi tool. It will chop and split zombie skulls with same ease as wood. I am big on weight when camping and hiking (I always carry this on me) and the thing only weights 24 ounces (2-3x less than other posted choices). The downside of it being lighter-weight is that it is not ideal for humongous quantity of log chopping or really dense woods. It is not that it cannot handle it, you just get a really good work out

Amazon.com: SOG Specialty Knives & Tools F01TN-CP Tactical Tomahawk with 2.75-Inch Steel Axe Blade and Black Ballistic Nylon Sheath, Black Finish: Home Improvement Amazon.com: SOG Specialty Knives & Tools F01TN-CP Tactical Tomahawk with 2.75-Inch Steel Axe Blade and Black Ballistic Nylon Sheath, Black Finish: Home Improvement

When I go car camping I bring this:

Amazon.com : Fiskars X15 Chopping Axe, 23.5-Inch : Patio, Lawn & Garden Amazon.com : Fiskars X15 Chopping Axe, 23.5-Inch : Patio, Lawn & Garden

It is super lite due to the tube/hollow handle.
The hollow/tube handle allows for better energy transfer to whatever you're chopping and reduces felt recoil and reduces bounce.
Fiskars axes (and scissors) are very reliable. I've split around 5 cords worth of wood with mine already and the handle is still in perfect condition.

Unless you are doing some hardcore backpacking, I don't see any reason not to go to OSH and buy and $20 axe off the rack
True American Camp Axe, 1.5 Inch L x 5.25 Inch W x 14 Inch H | Striking Tools | Garden Tools | Lawn & Garden | Outdoor | Osh Categories | osh Site

It will probably work better for wood splitting than the more expensive ones as it's heavier

Hey - keep in mind I'm the guy who told him to buy a $20 off the shelf at Osh first.
I'm just saying, if you wanna go nuts, go nuts
