Looking for a 97-99 or new Subaru

I am looking for a new Subaru and I have about 1000 questions. New or Used? Normally I'd say definitely used, but they have such good interest rates for financing that New is a possibility. Specifically, I'm looking at AT 97-99 Subaru Outbacks, ideally Impreza but Legacy is great too. Does anyone have bad or good info on those cars? Reliability? Costs of parts? what are the Major service points? When does the timing belt have to be changed? Are there a lot of lemons out there? Any common subaru outback problems? Let me know, I am SO interested!
Thanks!
Thanks!

Well, I have a 97 Green OBS which is bone stock! I bought it with a blown 2.2 motor. We will be replacing the motor with another 2.2 motor, upgrading clutch, timing belt and the whole thing. Then we plan on selling it for cheap.
Why are we doing this? We just wanted another project to do...that's it

If this person doesn't get serious, let me know about it... I might be in the market for a 'beater'
might end up with 2 points on my record... the once accident... insurance will be too much... So, i dunno.
