Any chance you're using the valet key?

Ya, the valet key will not open the glove box. So the valet can't steel your gloves.

or try pushing it up and turning it, plus make sure you're not using a valet key like everybody else just said

Most likely will have to cram a screwdriver in and bust the lock.

No. Get the bottom screws off that mounts glove box. 2 phillips. It'll give you enough angle space on the top of the glove box to put a flat screw driver or a curved pick to unclip the spring loaded latch.

If it's the correct key (i.e. not the valet key), rotate the key 180 degrees and try again. Perhaps the lock or the key are just getting worn down a bit.

I undid the two screws and after wiggling the glovebox, I was able to use the key to open it.

But te old glovebox lock must be broken. Now it won't shut haha

At least I got what I needed in the glovebox

Thx everyone

i hate subaru and their stupid keys. when i bought my scoob, it came with 3 keys. one controlled all the doors including trunk. one opened ONLY the trunk and the third ONLY the drivers door. IDK if its an issue with my lcks or not. ANyways, now I have 4 Subaru keys. One more when my glovebox broke and i bought one off a wrecked 03 for 30 bucks. LOL.

maybe spray some tri flow in the lock?
