Local TPMS setup?

Looking to order a set of winters from Tirerack. Was planning to get them with TPMS sensors, but setup seems like a pain and in need of specific programming.

Rather than spend a couple of hundred on tools I'll need exactly twice a year, anyone here already have them and provide a Bay Area local service?

Are you buying a separate set of wheels or just tires ? You should be able to just reuse the stock ones on that set of wheels. Here is the cheapest ones I found, Subaru wants $90 per sensor and I got all four of mine for $171 and those are on my summer set up. Any tire shop should have the tool to awaken the sensor for you and most likely will do it for free.

It would be for a winter set, so I'd be looking to get a second set of wheels with TPMS included and just swap sets seasonally. Swapping tires is possible but I was hoping to avoid it.

My whining is because TPMS setup is harder than Bluetooth pairing, which is sort of how I'd imagined it would work.

I'd go with some 17" bbs, better traction on skinnier snow tires and cheaper. I just spent $1200 on Blizzacks for my stock 18" x 8.5". You could just say eff it and no sensors but the light will be on constantly. sitting at wheel works right now getting my summer setup installed since we have no snow.
