local PROVA D wheel owners?

Any users locally? Your thoughts after ownership? I'm going to Asia in a couple weeks, and found a great deal on this wheel. I'm a little bit worried about the wear and tear over time, since its wrapped in alcantara. my hands are pretty moist by nature, and i very rarely run the AC even during summer.

Seems like he is curious about the D and wants to try it out before committing.

I have the Prova D on my 11 STI. Had it through last year including some autocross and a couple of track days. Wear isn't bad. The Alcantara does mat down from greasy hands after a while but cleans up well with some Griott's interior cleaner and a soft toothbrush.

The material does wear, but I'm guessing many of the folks who think it wears super fast don't realize it's matted rather than worn, and can be cleaned. Look for videos of Alcantara cleaning on Youtube.

It's also very comfortable and has a great feel. Not cheap, but you'll enjoy it every moment you're driving the car

If you are worried about the alcantara order the DAMD D wheel from Japanparts.com. It comes in leather and is the exact same wheel as the Prova. DAMD makes all of Provas wheels. (The Prova wheels have the DAMD logo stamped in the metal frame under the airbag)

Not only can you get leather, you can get carbon fiber versions too. The leather one is also about $300 cheaper then the Prova Alcantara.

I love my DAMD wheel, wouldn't run anything else.

Love my alcantara wheel from JPM. The alcantara really does feel that nice. It's also pretty easy to clean. Very durable stuff.

D shaped wheels are cool if you have long *** legs and you want the benefited leg room otherwise rather have a circle

This. I had a Prova D-shaped wheel. It looked great, but for daily driving, the flat bottom of the D-wheel became annoying when making u-turns and other almost "full lock" turns.

As far as keeping it clean, wiping it down with a damp rag and brushing it with a suede brush every month or so kept it in great shape.
