Local Places that Stock Race Seats
Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a store in the Bay Area (preferably south bay) that stocks race buckets. I know speed merchant in San Jose carries Corbeau but i'm also looking to try Sparco and Momo seats. However, i am not limited to these brands I'm trying to find something for my Miata. So, if you know of a place that has seats in stock normally, please let me know.

Not a store, but if you're interested in trying on a Sparco Evo 2 there's one in my rally car over at GST. Just let the guys know what you're doing!
Another place to check is Bascom Trim and Upholstery in Santa Clara. They stock Recaro and a few others, and always have a few down there to try. Great shop/great people too.

Not in the south bay, but Conversion Techniques has a bunch of Sparco and Recaro seats for testing out. The last time I was there they had at least a dozen seats out on the floor.

I'm 5'11" and close to 250lbs. And i have a 38" waist. The main reason i need a seat is because i'm too tall for my rollbar. With my helmet on, I am about 1/2" too tall. I tried a Momo T-Frame in a Miata on friday at the Bubbles Meet. However, every website I found that was "selling" it told they had none in stock and it was discontinued. I found a guy on craigslist selling a new one. I'll go check out his, hopefully i will still fit and friday's seat wasnt just a fluke.
according to Flyin' Miata's website, the optimal size seat for a miata has a base width of 19.5" and a shoulder width of 21". However, it seems that this is not the end-all-be-all rule for miata seats.
