i just checked Forgotten Felines Web Site and under the "Updates" for Adam it say's that the money being raised is for the kitten's care and that if they collect more then they need it will go into their vet fund for other injured cats.

Awww, poor kitty! It's hard to believe that **** was done by girls, who are typically emotionally attached to cute and cuddly animals like kittens. Shoot, I know I am!

I wonder if they have found someone to adopt the kitty yet?

I think we need to put those girls in Abu Graib until they confess to where the other kittens are...

...because the rest are missing.

Yeah, this pisses me off. Having a cat myself, the creatures can`t defend themselves.

Besides sending cash... I have another way for people to help out. A friend of mine is petitioning for an amendment to animal cruelty laws. In lieu of the recent events, its come to light just how pathetic the legal system in California is when dealing with these issues. These girls will likely get off with a misdemeanor, where as in other states offenders pay thousands of dollars in fines and serve time. Check this site and sign the petition if you please...

Anyone that knows me well is aware that I am a HUGE animal rights advocate. Well, now I need your help. There is an effort to amend the animal cruelty law, and I need all the signatures I can get on my petition.This amendment would make torturing, mutilating or killing an animal a felony, rather that a wobbler, (sorry for the legal jargon) which is now charged as a misdemeanor or a felony. A misdemeanor conviction is a joke, especially for commiting such a vile crime. Animal cruelty is horrifying, and a serious crime, please go to the website;

www.adamsamendment.com
(named for the kitten that was recently burned alive here in Santa Rosa. )

There is a direct link to the petition, and you can read all about the inspiration behind it. It won't take but a moment of your time, and it's SUCH a worthy, worthy cause.

I ask any registered California voter to sign this petition, I have a senator who's willing to meet with me, and potentially sponsor a bill to amend the state law. THIS IS HUGE! Think of our pets, who are a part of so many of our families. Please, sign the petition, urge your friends and family to do the same. Every effort helps. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart, for it's a cause so dear to my heart.

Crimes punishable by up to 3 years in jail are felonies. The judge and the prosecutor have the option to pursue either.

I think we need to place these girls in Abu Graib with Michael Vick, and just let all the "terrorists" have at them...

...and then kill them in the most brutal fashion imaginable.

Taken from the website:
"While California does have a felony provision for animal cruelty cases, in many instances it will be charged, or plea bargained down to a misdemeanor, a much less serious offense. The absolute maximum penalty for an animal cruelty conviction in California is a sentence of 3 years and fine of $20,000. Keep in mind however, that with good behavior and work time adjustments, an individual will likely serve less than 2 years incarcerated.

Compare California to just several other states:

State Maximum Penalty
Alabama 10 years $5,000.00
Colorado 6 years $500,000.00
Iowa 5 years $75,000.00
Louisiana 10 years $25,000.00
Oregon 5 years $100,000.00
