a couple of little tid-bits for all the people that have been getting pulled over lately:
the CHPs list of 'don'ts'
http://www.chp.ca.gov/html/streetlegal.html
CARB exemption searchable database

oh, and pick up the new edition of Sport Compact Car, it's got some good stuff in it about being pulled over.

i don't think that any individual could actually pick up the vehicle code, the damn thing is probably in a freakin' 72 volume set.
also, keep in mind that the law is so vauge on some things that the individual officers may not even be sure what is and what isn't legal.

the CVC is actually only one book (its mostly condensed...some stuff has become obsolete so they took it out) and its about 6" thick
and i think you can pick it up...its vague on some things yea and a lotta things are left up to officer discreation

all the CVC is online...

another source is SEMA. they are the umbrella for everything aftermarket so...
then check the individual associations for each thing.
like the aftermarket window tinting assoc: http://www.iwfa.com/
yeah the SCC article had some false data so once i read the window % for KALIF and saw it was wrong, i figured, SCC aint like TIME mag for fact checking...

Here's another tip fellas- to get pulled over, you must do something ILLEGAL. If you have front tint, no front plate, loud exhaust, crap hagning from your mirror, or are even actually committing a moving violation, then you are not getting harrassed when you get pulled over- he's SUPPOSED to do it. If you don't want to get pulled over, follow the letter of the law instead of what you think the law should be.

Werd. When I go to meets and check out members' rides, I wonder how in the heck they are able to drive on public roads without being pulled over, with all of the visible and illegal mods. You've named the most common mods that anyone can see from 30 yards away, without even popping the hood.
