LIC Motorsports is Moving!

At LIC Motorsports we decided it’s time to step it up, we have had such great support and success from our loyal customers that we felt it was our duty to give back for those that have given so much to us. Shop is still going to be located in Novato.

The enormous process started over 2+ months ago. We brain stormed about what the customer wants/deserves and how we can incorporate that into our already “customer service” business model. What we decided on was this has to be all for the customers experience. To cut corners to save a buck was not an option. If we wanted to do this we had to do it right from the get go. With that being said, we found the space (it just happend to come available - lucky us) and started on the planning. This within itself is no easy task.

1st Step: was going to the zoning dept of Novato; to see if they would allow another space to be automotive (this town is very strict with use permits).
2nd Step: get approved for all our licenses (Bureau of Automotive Repair, Seller Permit, EPA Permit, and Business License). In addition get all the building permits to do the construction.
3rd Step: Contact our Architect and get some plans done up
4th Step: Realize our budget for this build and move will get blown out, this is just how it’s going to be.
5th Step: Time to get crackin. We need to move by last week of October.

When we decided on the space we knew it was going to be a lot of work, as the place has never been automotive use before, so it has nothing that an auto shop needs (i.e. air lines, 220, enough electrical outlets, exhaust ventilation, etc…). The big task of this place was to tear it down to the studs, remove walls, move walls, and make it the way we wanted/needed it.

Here are some pics of our journey over the last month and recent weeks. We have a ton more to do and deadline is approaching quickly. Grand Opening BBQ will be for early to mid November, Hope to see you all there!
