LF spring isntall/alignment shop!

Hey everybody,

I'm looking for your fave shop that can install springs and give me a good alignment for hopefully a reasonable price! I'm located in the east bay (walnut creek).

thanks a bunch!

Auto Innovations in Milpitas. I think they do a install/alignment package.

Do the install yourself. Even noobs can do it under 4 hours. Takes about 2 hours when you're moving good.

then go get an alignment. Save yourself a couple hundred bucks.

Hmmm... I thought Auto Innovations did a spring install and alignment for $180 or something. Sure you can save money if you do the install yourself, but you'll need a few tools. Socket set, breaker bar, impact wrench, spring compressor, torque wrench, and whatever else I forgot. If you have access to most of those things, it is certainly cost effective. If not... probably just call Auto Innovations to do it.

OneManArmy has it right...

I had never done a spring install before and a buddy and I were able to do the spring swap in four hours. Just get some writeups on it and you should be able to figure it out.

After the install I set up an appt with Auto Innovations and was able to get my alignment the next day.

I'd be amazed if they still do that deal.

Figure if they bill 2 hours that's anywhere from $140-200 right there. Then the alignments... cheapest I've ever seen them do is $60 and that was a LONG time ago. Last time I went in it was $120 or $140(I'd have to look at the invoice) but that was with camber bolts and camber plates. I think they're more like $80-100 on standard alignments these days.

So that's $200-350 or so for $180.

If they're still running that deal I'll have them do my strut install when I get them because that's cheap as hell.

Shoot my last alignment was $130 and that was just with rear camber bolts and regular top hats at a place here in SC.

I am going to plan an install day but I may need to find a place to do it. I've got a 2 car garage but behond that it's dirt so we'd have to take turns.

I will have struts, camber bolts and sway bars to install plus struts swap on another guys car and I'm sure if I do one Jeff will find something he needs to buy...haaa.

Someone else has my compressors & instructions but if you want to borrow them, lemme know. I just did this swap a few weeks ago, its doable on your own.
What do people have their front camber bolts set at?

Hey everybody,

Thanks for all the info! I have actually done a spring install before, but I don't have the tools to do it anymore (spring compressors etc)...so I wanted to get someone to do it fast and easy. But now...after realizing the costs...I think i'll try to borrow some tools now, but i'm going to try contacting AI for their price first.
