that's because we are getting assraped by the oil companys, and they aren't even using Jelly... We have enough oil in our refineries for 20 years, yet they act like the war in the middle east is effecting them in any way shape or form, and we are willing to pay for it, because we have to drive our cars...

The reports I've heard are that we should blame the tree huggers and incompetent politicians who decided adding methanol was a great idea even though they don't have a plan for actually DELIVERING the methanol. it can't be piped with the oil so has to be trucked.
But that's just what I hear...
At least diesel is getting cheaper so the truck isn't quite so bad to run.

This pissed me off when I heard it on the radio this morning: For 13 years as chairman and chief executive of Exxon Mobil, Lee R. Raymond earned $144,573 a day.

Also, CNN said we get 49% of our oil from the US, 12& from Canada, 8% from Mexico, 7% from South America... so with NAFTA, none of that should be taxed. Over 75% of our oil we use doesn't even come from the middle east...
Owlboogie, that's ****ing insane.

Capitalism has to be checked with some sort of morality, so I'm all for that "widfall profits tax" they're talking about putting into place.. There is no f'ing excuse when they charged 70 cents/gallon when the price per barrel is $50 and $3.00/gal when it the cost/barrel goes up 50%.
It's the fault of:
1)Oil company execs who want little Hilton-esque billionair heirs/heiresses
2)The govt who is LOVING the tax revenue right now
3)Tree huggers that will NEVER allow another oil rig or refinery
4)Tree huggers that caused the creation of MTBE and now we have it in our drinking water--thanks sierra club!

and yea i know its not as bad as europe or other countries, but i dont care, i live in america
well you guys realize it's like 10-20 dollars a gallon in places like Japan, EU, other parts of Asia.
As much as I hate gas prices, realize it's really damn complicated. I don't know much about economics but I do know that like health care, auctions, insurance, labor, human resources, etc. etc. if you choose to study that field in university it is an entire class on just THAT, having all sorts of calculus and crap as prerequisites.
So suffice it to say there is more than the average person is aware of, but what is the truth? If you really want to find out you'd spend 10 years studying just THAT. Hard to find out the truth huh?

Blame it on your great President. If he didn't want to pick fights with people and instead make friends, we will all be having cheap gas and don't have all our taxes put to the fight of against terror.
