Lemons Team for Thunderhill in August!

So my lemons team got accepted to the August Thunderhill race.
We are dressing up a 1984 300zx in Portal / Portal 2 Theme (Video Game).

But as you can see from this video, we are mostly subaru guys.

Anyways, first order of business is getting a roll cage & racing seat. If anybody has a recommendation on a local roll cage builder, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, any local stores that carry fairly cheap racing seats? One of our racers is a pretty big guy, so I'd like to fit him in the seat if possible.

Also, is anybody else from here planning to race there?

Thanks in advance!

No, the $500 limit does not count towards safety equipment (which includes Brakes and Tires along with Rollcage, Seat, etc).

Sparco EVO 3 buckets are big guy friendly - an Evo 2 will work if he's under 240 or so easily as well (I'm a big dude, and I can cram in in an Evo 2 in a pinch, and an Evo 3 is totally comfortable). Racetech buckets can be had with more head protection and come in all sorts of sizes, but aren't necessarily as comfortable. They are a more competition-oriented seat, though. Plan on using pillows to adjust the little guys up if you've got a big guy planted in there, and check the rules on sliders...

Ya, I am not looking for no-name fail seats. I was leaning towards a Sparco although I've seen quite a few people mention Kirkey too.

I believe you can have sliders but you need to use a brace like this one from IOPort.

Thanks for the input!

Well, since you have a Datsun/Nissan, you might want to get a hold of Troy Ermish, he builds good roll cages etc and he's in Fremont.

At my old shop we built a Lemons car out of a 94 BMW, such a fun race. Luckily we had a seat laying around the shop. As far as the cage goes, we had it built somewhere that was fairly inexpensive and done pretty quickly. I dont remember where but you can call the shop and ask, the owner Brad would be happy to help. 408 369-1911
