Legit Rims question

Whats the widest I can fit under a blob eye without having to mess with camber. Im trying to see if Im stuck with something like 17x9 or could I go 9.5 or 10 without camber adjustment. If you can tell me the numbers for stock and the numbers for rolled/pulled too that would be a great help.

I know offsets will come into play but lets just say 38 offset as a base on all the rims.

I do have coilovers as well

Since you have coilovers I'm assuming you are concerned about fender clearance. This being the case, your clearance will depend heavily on ride height and tire size, if not more so than the actual wheel choice.

There is more than enough information on this on Nasioc

17x9s with 245s will most likely rub unless you roll/pull fenders, probably would need some camber adjustment as well

I've got 17x9 +30 torques waiting to go on, with 245/40 star specs and I'm probably just gonna raise my car to fit rather than camber it out with stretched tires

Its a combination of EVERYTHING. you need to explain to us what you wanna do first .. what look are you going for? Hellalfush? just wanna stuff as much rim and tire under there as possible? How low are you planning on making the car ? whats your ideal rim width so we can determine the offset .... need more of an idea of what your looking to do before your question can be answered.

i want to fit 17x9s under my car with 245/50s hopefully without camber adjustment. im not going for hella flush. i just want more meat while having a somewhat aggressive stance. ofcourse ill sit as low as i can without having to mess with camber etc.

50's are not going to work. 35's are best 40's can work. Just stay away from 30's the ride is crap.

I would go with a 245/35/17 and maybe a 1 inch drop in front and 1.5 - 2 in the rear. Maybe 2* -2.5* neg front and 2 in the rear with camber bolts. You might be able to sneek a 255 in there. But you'll need coil overs and camber bolts with a roll. Not sure 100% though.

I asked about CAI because if you run one your tire might hit on hard turns. Like mine did. Its even worse running with WL caster correction kit.

I was wondering why you asked about that. Makes sense though. With the roads in San Jose the lowest I want to go is 45. The potholes are ridiculous on my drive to and from work and around town. You think Id be able to get some 17x9s with 235/45s in there without having to do any camber stuff?

I ran Advan RGII’s (17x8.5" +48) with 255/40/17s on my old bugeye (same clearance). Stock STi struts, Swift springs and rolled. Never had a problem. Meaty love.

I have 17x9 +42 with 235/40/17. I'm rolling my rear fenders on wednesday and will run camber in the front. maybe 1* or 1.5* with .5* less in the rear. Camber is ok man. Better than rubbing away your side wall and blowing out a tire and then ruining a wheel too.

Or increase your ride height and stiffen up your suspension so you don't rub, but with 17x9 and high ride height it will look goofy.

Just my $0.02
