see this is why because us enthusiast just don't want to deal with that kind of drives, not only that but i read its only $15ea car racing and spectators are free. This is a hell of alot better deal than what you would pay at the tracks. Not only that but it seems just by going to the street races there are more cars on the streets then going to the track.
Terminal island in LA had the same thing going on back in the day. Big Willie and The Brotherhood of Street Racing had reopened the old raceway for a while. $10 to get in and race anything! It was crazy to see go-karts and mini motorcycles race. Big Willie still is trying to get the place open again, hope he does.

'real' street racing will never die, even if they have a legalized form. even though i was one of the knuckleheads back in the day, hats off to the people at least trying to find safer ways for the kids to get their kicks.
man, terminal island is taking it way back tho. that place was fun but such a craphole! lol carlsbad was really funny......only track i've ever seen w/dirt+unpaved return roads & staging lanes.....in a gravel pit no less!

i would like to see that happen in the bay, but i don't think is going to happen any time soon.

my other reason cuz some ppl just don't have time on wed or want to drive that far in traffic.
That's pretty cool that the cops are helping to promote that down in San Diego. If they are doing it at Qualcomm, maybe they could do it at the Oakland Coliseum parking lot. It has a whole lot of businesses around there so I doubt they would really need the 93db restriction limit at that point, but maybe. It would be nice to see something like that done here in the Bay Area.

Legal drags are cool because they will keep every at risk 16-18 year olds off the streets. Thats fine with me, i wouldve raced at that age, friends wouldve too and not total so many cars.
