Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Yay or Nay?
Alright, now that Conan isn't on Late Night any more, what do you guys think of Jimmy Fallon? I was listening to the radio this morning and heard some promo's for the show - I was far from impressed. In fact, I was embarrassed for the writers and crew of Late Night to be quite honest. I know the producers choose hosts based on who the target market likes, but c'mon, that many people think Fallon is funny and understands the nuances of that particular age group? Well, at least he is humble, can dance funny, and report satirical news.

I watched one intro to the show and turned it off. I think it was the first episode though, so I will withhold judgement for now and see if he grows into it. Conan and Jay both do a more sophisticated humor, while Fallon relies on being goofy to make people laugh (not that Conan or Jay were never goofy, but they didn't rely on it) which makes him seem like not the best candidate for the show.

i agree with you guys - he is still green to it, so it's still a bit awkward for everyone. so, i will reserve further judgment. but to me he just doesn't have the "shtick" that Conan naturally has. that, and the sensibility and confidence to be self-deprecating. ie. being ok with and embracing your vulnerabilities. i can see Fallon evolving into this as he is still a humble comic.

Many people forget, even though Conan would remind everyone how far he's come during his final 2-3 weeks. Conan was on weekly contracts and was never sure when or if he was going to get canned. He even admitted his show was terrible for a good while. There will never be another Conan, let's face it. It'll take a while for people to get that out of their heads and get used to Fallon. I'm sure it was the same way for people who grew up watching Letterman and thought, "Who the hell is this Conan guy?" I'm sure there's still some of you who prefer Letterman to Conan after all these years.

Jimmy Fallon did something to your dog? I hope it was sexually, not because I hate your dog but cause I can't stand Fallon.
He is NOT FUNNY. Ever. Never laugh at him, doesn't even seem like he gets his own jokes from the monologue...... lame +1gazillion
