This is the last time i get a ticket in SF

Over the weekend i learned that SF doesn't play around with tickets. I got this little beuaty in the mail on Saturday. It all started when i got a ticket on Muni for not having a valid transfer. I tossed out the one that had that day's date and kept the one that i had the day before. I forgot to take care of it and now i get this. When i forgot to take care of tickets in other counties they wouldn't put out warrents but i guess SF wants their money a little more than the rest.

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!

I have a parking ticket for $135 they've been chasing me around with for like 2 years. Threatened to take my tax return...whole 9 yards. Wonder if I have a warrent. I've never seen one of those in the mail before.

I've been contesting the ticket...I don't even own the car anymore..shoot the car is dead. and I paid the dang ticket when it was $75....they suck.

SCREW them...stupid parking people. SF is killing people with these new increases and what not.

I want to know where the money is going...sure as **** isn't the roads.

next time you should handle your business instead of just throwing out the ticket.

My friend used to work at Wheel Works in San Francisco and saw all sorts of stuff with SF local cars. Dented rims (even stock wheels), alignment is always out, blown shocks etc. Busted streets will bust your car.

I think they don't fix roads that much is because of the huge volume of traffic all the time doesn't allow them time to close the road. Even when they do repave it, it gets messed up in a year or two again.

It's a bench warrant.

They're issued automatically for any late payment, non-acknowledgement, or missing a court appearance.

They won't actively go after you, but if you happened to get pulled over or sweated for any reason and they check out your Driver's license, you'll get a nice trip to the local police station jail to file some paperwork! maybe even a night in the slammer, plus MORe fines... Not worth it.

Take care of that business... It's active ALL over the entire state, and you don't need a trip to jail.

Sorry that happened to you, but you can't mess with uncle sam's money...

yes. i guess as of 1/1/05 you need to have a vaild transfer when riding one of the metro lines (K,L,M,J,N,F). muni agents get on trains and work their way through checking everyones pass. I happened to have an expired pass in my pocket. i made the mistake of throwing away the valid pass. muni is in a huge budget crunch and they need cash.

yeah...it's that much for pretty much everything. $250 on caltrain plus fees...probably the exact same price.

I almost got tagged last wed. I was dead asleep and the guy woke me up asking for my ticket. I gladly handed it over...NOT validated. ooops. I've never ridden caltrain before I didn't know about the validation process on those 10 ride passes. He told me he is suppose to hand out $250 tickets for that but since I'm new he let me go. I now always validate.

they've checked me 3 rides out of 8 I think. Usually on the way home. In the morning I'm coming from gilroy...don't think they give a crap..haaa.

that SUX! that's crazy, but $268 to keep from hanging out with the boys in jail - worth it

in hawaii they tow your car as soon as your meter is up(within 1-5 minutes) or parking rules come into effect. the tow trucks circle blocks like sharks.

I always get on those from the back (shh). I don't see any Muni people checking transfers. I guess I'll start getting one of those monthly passes now.

I have about 3 bench warrants in SF. One from more than 10 years ago. :P

Their backlog of warrants is insane.

Many years ago, my friends (who were kids back then) used to wander through MUNI's bus yard near Masonic and California Streets. They would enter buses and rummage around until they found pads of transfers. They would then use those old-time MUNI hole punches with stars and squares to 'validate' those transfers for free rides. I'm sure the security is tighter in the MUNI bus yard these days.

I lived in the City when school busing was in vogue due to politicians' decree to end segregration of public schools. The MUNI bus drivers would sometimes deviate from the normal route back home and also engage in street racing with the other MUNI school bus drivers on bigger boulevards! LOL
