Last Minute Reminders For The Hammy Meet (Sunday) EVERYONE PLEASE READ!!!
1.
First, I will not be accepting payment after midnight on Friday night, so PLEASE don't paypal me after that as your name wont be on the list at hammy if you do. I'm compiling all the paper work that night because I'm busy as hell on the Saturday before Hamilton.
If you don't pay me by midnight on Friday, PLEASE PAY AT THE ACTUAL EVENT!
Also, people paying there, please try to bring exact change ($10 bills if you're solo).
2.
Everyone remember to bring $5 for each car as the park will charge you that for park fee enterence and parking. Sorry about this, I have zero control over it... But please know that the money you pay for parking goes straight towards funding the park, maintaining the park, controlling the wild life, etc... It's not going into someones pocket is basically what I'm saying.
3.
It will most likely be VERY hot that day, it always is no matter what day we do it on. It wont be as hot as last year (when it was 179 degrees), but the sun still can takes its toll on you. If you can, bring a folding chair if you plan to sit, and perhaps a sun umbrella, hat, whatever.
4.
We will be providing cold drinks (as long as the ice lasts... ha ha) for everyone, including food and snacks (Pizza (101 pizzas from Pizza hut), cookies, chips, snacks)
5.
It'd be great if you guys didn't show up too early unless of course you're helping out for the event.
6.
If you are helping out for the event, I expect you to be at the park at around 10:45-11 at the latest. I will try to get there by around 9am. Also, people helping out at the event will get a special custom title under their screen names.
All help is greatly appreciated and we def need it!!! No cooks this year as the food is pre-made, but I do need some people to sort of regulate stuff and make sure people aren't wasting food, taking too much, etc... And I need people to sort of walk around and make sure everything is cool (like drinks are replenished, as well as snacks, etc).
I can really use a parking guy or two again this year (Gagan?).
I can also use someone at the front gate to pre-buy entry tickets and sell them to people coming in to lessen traffic. You wont be losing money, just easing traffic getting in. This would GREATLY help everyone and it would ROCK if someone could do it again this year. (I can't remember who it was last year... Jeff?) This is a very important task and you'd be rewarded somehow. (Perhaps with one of the raffle prizes? Custom title? Sexy time with me and Zoeb?)
7.
ALSO, this happens every year and I REALLY don't appreciate it, PLEASE DO NOT PARK YOUR CAR IN THE CONED OFF VENDOR AREA!!! THESE SPOTS ARE RESERVED FOR THE PAYING VENDORS AND IF YOU DO PARK THERE, YOU ARE CHEATING THEM OUT OF MONEY SPENT!!!!!!!!! I almost had someone towed last year because they wouldnt move their car, and it really pissed us all off. So please don't be that person!!
8.
Another important thing to remember, PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY ON THE ROAD!! THE CHP WILL BE DISPATCHED TO TAKE CARE OF ANY PEOPLE TRYING TO PROVE SOMETHING!!! THIS IS A FAMILY-TYPE EVENT! NOT A TRACK DAY! NO DRIFTING, NO DONUTS, NO SPEEDING, AND NO RECKLESS DRIVING WHAT-SO-EVER! IF YOU ARE CAUGHT DOING THIS, NOT ONLY WILL YOU BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE EVENT, YOU WILL ALSO BE TAKING A VERY LONG VACATION FROM THIS PLACE, NOT TO MENTION THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO FACE ME, AND YOU WONT LIKE ME WHEN I'M ANGRY. (Normally a nice guy, but when you screw with this event and endanger people, I become your worst nightmare!!!). sorry for the warning, but every year someone goes off the mountain, or something weird happens. Please be mature and understand that there are a lot of unexperienced drivers at this event, and just because you can drive fast doesn't mean everyone can. Just please, I beg of you, don't be a jackass. (In worst case scenario, the cops will be called, and there are plenty of witnesses on my side).
Driving slowly and well within the limits of the law also apply when LEAVING THE EVENT. Last year, everyone was pretty good on the way up Mt. Hammy but at least one person in a wrb WRX wagon was observed driving fast enough when leaving to go home that he would catch up to others and tailgate their bumpers until they moved over for him. When driving up or down the hill, you should be driving as if a CHP unit was following and observing from a few car lengths behind you.
9.
Another thing, the road is pretty long and its uphill, so remember to have at LEAST a quarter of a tank of gas if your car is fairly stock... If you're highly modified, I'd get a half tank at least.
10.
Please don't take things that don't belong to you. We've had several cases of people taking things that don't belong to them, be it because it was mistaken identity (folding chair), or just because someone wanted to steal something (Like raffle prizes). Please be considerate to others. I don't think any regulars stole stuff, I think it was people that don't post on the message boards and don't really care about others! So please, if you catch someone doing it, punch them in the face for me!
11.
One last thing to mention. PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOURSELVES! The reason the hammy folks don't like us or want us using their park (I had to plea bargain) is because we are so messy and leave a ton of crap behind! If we keep it clean this year, perhaps they will welcome us back next year. So please, I don't have a hundred hands to clean up everything after everyone, I'm busing doing other stuff... if you can just throw away your own things, perhaps if you see other garbage, just pick it up and toss please. It would mean a lot. If everyone did their part, we'd be golden!
Now that we're done with the boring/crappy stuff. Everyone remember to not be shy, have fun and really enjoy yourselves! This may be the last event we're going to have (not sure), so make it worth it!
I'll probably be the tallest person there wearing a "brucelee" name tag (we'll have name tags for you'z), so feel free to introduce yourselves, even if we have already met, I'm really, REALLY bad at remembering faces, esepcially if we met at a meet where I meet hundreds of folks at a time.
I think that covers everything... Feel free to add anything else to this thread.

Sticky this ****.
Good rules to live by....hopefully no one goes off the mountain again. I don't get why people don't understand that its a really small road and you shouldn't be doing mountain runs on there. Oh well...natural selection maybe?

If the day turned warm
And the park booked out
And you found yourself
In a huge long line
You wait for parking
Then the line speeds up
No one would you see
You ask yourself, 'Who'd prepay for me?'
I see him now, who could it be?
It's hard to say it
I hate to say it
But it's probably me
</Sting>
I'll be slightly busier this year with delivering pizzas, so I'm out. Sorry.
