Im debating if I should go Koni Yellows and Ground Controls for my suspension setup . Do you guys think it would be good for daily driver??? Also good if I would take it to the Auto X a couple of times this year? If not whats a good setup for about $1000???

I have Koni Yellows and Ground Controls. As for having it as a daily driver, it depends on how you set it up. Since Ground Control allows you to get any spring rate, it really depends on how you setup the ground controls. I have 300/275 and it's fine for daily driving. There's a guy who works @ Ground Control who owns a WRX and can give you advice on setups.

I auto-x with these and I've noticed I'd like a little more oversteer, so I think I should have gotten 300/300, but it's not a bad setup. With dying tires, I was able to keep up w/ my friend's WRX on JICs (which are setup awesome for auto-x and track but suck for daily driving).

I don't know of much better setups for ~ $1000 that give you any spring rate you want with lifetime shock warranty.

Yep at under a $1k there are no better coilovers available than the faithful Koni Yellows and GC combo.

I have koni and gc's with spring rates 400/350 and its pretty harsh on the streets paired with my alk and sway bars. It helps a little when you turn down the shocks and when they are on stiff, it handles like a beast.
Also, if anyone wants a ride ust let me know, I live in Mountain View, 94041.

i run 390f/440r on my koni/gc setup on my RS. It rides fine. could use more bump on the koni, but no way of do that since the yellows are rebound adj only. (at least off the shelf yellows).

Eitherway, i'm happy with them. I will be changing my springs to 7" and keeping similar or slightly lower rates.

Is there any heigth adjustment on those, from what I can find you can only adjust the firmness? Is that correct.

the GC kit is what gives you the height adj.

The koni shock is what provides rebound adj.

Yes. However picking the right spring length in the first place is key. So do your homework.

With Ground Controls, 8 inches is very tall if you want to slam your car. I have 8 inch springs and when fully lowered, still have about 2 finger width between my 225/50/16 PZero Neros and the fenders. IMHO that's a perfect lowered ride height for me, so it works out very nicely because I know exactly where to lower my car to if I ever raise it. However, if you want your car lower, obviously go with a shorter spring.

Also, don't forget spring stiffness. If anything, I think this is more important than spring height. Definitely do your homework on these because you'll have to live with your choice for a while.
