MONSTER ENERGY WRC TEAM???
This could be a real boon for getting a WRC round back in the good 'ole US of A! It'd be great for Atkinson too. Discuss...

Whew! Just as long as Ken Block isn't competing the team should be great! I read the title of this thread incorrectly and thought Block was going to be competing for some reason...
Good news for Atkinson!

WRC drivers don't get second chances/second takes, it's all one continuous live run and separates the boys from the men.

Look at it this way... Pastrana wins the Rally America championship almost every year. He went and ran a WRC event and didn't do so hot. I believe the actual DNF reason was mechanical, but stage times weren't even close to what they needed to be. Block isn't as fast as Pastrana.
Ken, while a nice guy just has deep pockets and markets well. His driving, which is good for the US isn't WRC caliber.

I'm not saying Ken's going to do well. I just like the fact that he's doing something to bring US recognition to the world of WRC. With the large amount of fans he has here in the US that know almost nothing about REAL rally, this has the potential to draw a ton of fans to the WRC fold. This in turn could be our best shot at getting a WRC event here in the US.
Hopefully Ari Vatanen will be replacing Mosley and will fix all the crap the FIA is trying to shove down the manufacturer's throats in regards to future regulations.

I really liked Atkinson when I was watching WRC a year or two ago, but it always seemed like he had bad luck. One time I specifically remember was when his exhaust lit a bush on fire under his car, which ended his race. It'd be nice to see him back in a Subaru.
Plus, to put in perspective, everyone remembers the Xgames that Colin was in. He flipped his car and he only lost by a few tenths right? It just shows how much faster WRC drivers are than the better US drivers, and Block isn't even with them.
