It's a 6 speed dual clutch set up which is what helps it stay so quick on the track. This is the only option on the GT-R.

Was it back in the late 90's when Mazda released the 3rd gen (I think) RX-7 and the first west coast rainy season almost 25% of them sold in CA were totaled because the drivers couldn't control them on the slicks?

I remember hearing something like that and laughing.
