There is a guy on the east coast selling an STi V8 motor set, complete with wiring, ECU, turbo and everything for $1350 shipped.

Its a steal. I say buy that and use your stock tranny until it blows

GC's don't need anything other than stock size rotors for stopping force unless they have much more power (IE: swap).

With my RS rotors, axxis ultimates, stainless lines and fluid, on RA1 race tires, a professional driver COULD NOT get the brakes to fade at the race track.

So, any upgrade you do, just know that it's only for preference and not really any performance enhancement.

Why don't you just save up about $10,000 over the next couple years and sell your car and buy an STI? (assuming high mileage STIs will cost around $12-13k at that time). Then you get the brembos, you don't need to swap, you get a cool car w/ 400 horsepower with a couple mods tossed in, it's 7 years newer than your impreza, you get a 6 speed transmission, cool suspension and a cool interior, the newer and stiffer and better handling chassis, etc. etc.

Seriously, I want you to think about my proposition right now, and tell me why I'm wrong and you're right. If you can give me a good reason not to do what I just said in the paragraph above, by all means be my guest and mod/swap away...

No offense intended (honest), just trying to give you some food for thought.
