This happened to me on 85 N near Winchester back in '97. I had just gotten on and an unlicensed drunk nut spun out of control and killed a cop who was standing next to a car he had pulled over. They shut down the whole freeway, and after a couple hours a few people figured out how to maneuver cars to get back up the on-ramp. At first a cop was like "no you can't do that" and a few people said things along the lines of "arrest me" - eventually the cops started helping (wtf?) and got people organized to get outta there. Nuts..

 

LOL! the few times u'll ever hear someone talk back to a cop..... arrest me! hahaha

 

Last year I was heading home from a superbowl party and was just merging on to southbound 101 in Rohnert Park. I saw a car in my rear view mirror and was waiting for him to get by me before I merged over. I looked over my shoulder again, wondering what was taking the guy so long and saw the car swerve over into the center shoulder. The car bounced off the center divide and then swerved all the way accross my lane. He missed clipping the front of my care by maybe a foot. He proceeded to drive south on the freeway while I called police to inform them of a drunk driver. He weaved back and forth several more times until he finally exited into a gas station on the side of the road. It was pretty crazy.

 

That is NUTS!!

craziest thing i have ever seen was a high speed chase with like 15 chp and a helicopter.. so i sped up and followed them threw traffic at like 85 in my silverado lol

rubbernecking is when you are twisting your head around to see what is going on. the problem is we tend to drive toward what we are looking at. not a good thing to do at 60mph.

haha it's funny how all those little drain holes at the bottom of the divider are plugged. might have helped.

 

damn, thats pretty crazy! One time I was driving down the highway (diveded highway, two lanes on both sides) at about 12:00AM and I see headlights ahead of me. I was so tired though that it took me a few seconds to realize that there should not be headlights coming right at me I darted into the right lane (I was in the left originally) and let them go by...there were also about 3 cop cars on the other side waiting for a break in the divider

weirdest thing i ever saw on the freeway was on hwy 5 going up the grapvine coming back from LA....it was about 5pm on a sun afternoon and there was this cadi traveling at about 100mph or so (i was doing about 80+) and he was in the middle lane....all of a sudden he slams on the brakes and busts a U-turn! starts going back down the grapevine at 100mph in the middle lane... i kept going and called it in. crazy LA drivers!

worst thing i saw was in fairfield about the time that pic up top was taken....the flooded area...i was in the fast lane...came to screeching halt and the civic in front of me tried....hydroplaned and started flipping....went over the car that was in front of it and came to land on its wheels....needless to say no one moved outta there for about an hour .

 

I had this happen to me the first morning i drove my Subaru to work. i was tired and thought nothing of the lights, then some dumbass Mustang flew by me honking his horns. The worst thing was two cops were chasing him, going East. I was going the correct way, West.
