I would vote in favor of stricter licensing tests.

The whole US way of thinking is all backwards. Being independent and better than your neighbor is how most people think, and they don't want to be grouped with the "poor" people who have to ride public transportation. Not to mention, the thinking of "if it ain't mine, I don't need to respect it." I can tag up, deface, destroy other people's property, but there will be hell to pay if anything happens to my stuff.

Not to mention our public transportation is utter garbage and would need a huge overhaul. Society, as a whole, wants instant gratification and would never pay all the money needed up front for more trains, more stations, better quality which would result in more on time % and better service. God forbid trains traveling near their houses and make noise, especially when they're not home!

There's no way the government will be able to take away what people believe is their "right" to drive. So many people think they're entitled to everything here, it's gotta take something big to even get close to correcting the course the US is headed.

We honestly just need stricter tests, training scenarios, and require mandatory defensive driving courses (such as those fins) where people learn how to keep their car in control while out of control. All that before they get handed their license will fix the majority of the problem. The roads and speed limits are honestly fine.

Changing the speed limit before teaching people how to drive (which is the primary problem) is like letting fat people have two seats on a plane for free because they are obese. Rather than giving them a diet.

There should be an age requirement to drive something that has more than 150 HP. Lol seriously, I don't wanna sound like an @$$ but majority of ppl that get killed are cause by someone driving under the age of 21. Or mommy's and daddy's need to stop and think before buying their lil kid some evo and think its practical because it has 4 doors. Just my opinion. Maybe because my first car was a civic sedan that barely pushed 100 HP lol.

It is a joke how easy it is to get a license here in the USA.

I am all for a genuinely stricter and more-thorough driving test.

THEN we can allow for higher speed limits.

It is called revenue. The more licences they rubber stamp, the more registration, car sales tax, violation fines, etc they can mis-manage and mis-spend

I have no doubt US possesses the technology and knowledge to build and maintain roads to the same if not higher standards. However, than munucipalities wouldn't be able to re-build them every year to keep their budget inflated and special interest parties (along with unions) happy.

Wasn't getting into WHY that is the case, but this is definitely a big part of it.
