Just moved from Hawaii and I need some HELP! :(

Hey everyone!

So, i shipped my car back from Hawaii and have put off registering my car in CA because I KNOW i won't pass smog, since I took my cats out and tuned my car in hawaii. Yes, I'm still driving around with Hawaii plates on! haha ANYWAY, I kept all my car parts, but since it was tuned, my ECU won't match my stock parts. I'm looking to buy a stock ecu so I can swap my parts out, but does anybody have any other suggestions on passing smog?? Help... please?? O=)

I am not entirely sure if its possible to do this but... I know on the newer Accessports they are pretty much married to the car. On the older ones you may be able to ask someone to borrow to flash the stock ECU and the unmarry.

Hit ebay or see if you can borrow one. Im guessing you're open source tuned.

Where are you located in Cali? I have a Tantric cable and can possibly do a flash through Romraider.

Just a quick question to get more information.

Are you planning on throwing on all your stock parts and keeping it that way? Or are you planning on throwing them on just for smog and then going back to the way you were?

I ask because it's possible to pass smog with just a quality tune and stock downpipe. You don't have to go back to stock to pass smog.

If its open source we could pull the map off it, flash a stock one for the test and flash it back after.

Don't quote me on this, but I think your tune should be able to run a stock dp for a little bit while you warm up your car and go smog without any real damage.

sorry! yeah they sell E85 at a few (very few) gas pumps around the bay. its mostly ethanol and if you run a gallon or two of it in your tank when you test it really cuts down on the HCs, got two cars past that failed without. Dont run more than 10% though.

Run 2 gallons of e85, throw on a stock downpipe, you will pass.
