Just installed swaybars + endlinks.. is this normal?
Hey guys,
I just installed the rear Helix adjustable bar, with the helix endlinks. I was wondering if I installed everything correctly because the endlinks seem to be pretty crooked when looking from the back of the car. Look in the pictures and you'll see. I didn't drive the car yet, but once side seems fine, the other is weird.
The side that's more slanted:

And the other side which looks ok:

What do you guys think?
Oleg

Yep, I have the same links and bar. It's normal for it to be like that, they'll move around depending on which way the car is turning. Being that their pillowball they have that kind of movement where something like Whitelines will not.

It's weird though, because I can almost guarantee that the bar would not fit if I was using the stock endlinks. I'm somewhat iffy on installing the front bar now, because I didn't think I'd need new endlinks there as well. I hope the stock ones work better in the front.

Endlinks look fine. Your sway bar looks bent, or installed incorrectly (left/right) or upside down. I can't tell. Take a shot of the whole thing from the center of the car.

No knock on the Helix swaybars (Helix is GREAT STUFF in general), but I can attest that I've seen this problem before, the ends of the bars appear to be bent, lemme guess, the bar is mounted properly on the frame mounts, so there is no travel side-to-side there, that is the only explanation.
If the bar was upside-down, it wouldn't clear the exhaust, no?
When the vehicle is on flat ground, the endlinks should be perpendicular to the surface of the ground, not slanted like in the above pix.
I know this because I've installed a couple of these bars.

You think this is fine though? I know I installed it corrently, there's no other way the bar could be installed.
Right now its set at the middle setting, and I don't feel it too much. I don't know why, maybe because I haven't cornered hard since it's raining.

Look at how the oem swaybar fits, the endlinks are perpendicular to the surface of the ground, that is how its supposed to be.
This affects how the swaybar is loaded by the lateral suspension arms; although you may not be able to feel the difference, it doesn't mean it shouldn't be corrected.

Do you think this bar is defective, or is it all the helix bars that are made this way? If so, I'm gonna have to visit Gruppe-S and maybe get a Cusco bar instead, and hopefully they'll take this one back if it's really defective. I'll have them take a look at it.

The bar is not defective. You're welcome to swing by and compare it to another Helix bar if you like. Please take a look at a couple of pics I just took of my co-worker's Helix sway bar and endlinks (silver Helix) setup. Since it is Pillowball, it's supposed to allow movement.

Thanks
Preston
